Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) Services

Obtain Class 2 and Class 3 DSC for MCA, GST, Income Tax, and E-Tendering

A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is an electronic equivalent of a physical signature, issued by a licensed Certifying Authority (CA) under the Information Technology Act, 2000. DSCs are mandatory for filing documents on government portals including the MCA21 portal for company filings, the income tax e-filing portal, the GST portal, DGFT for IEC applications, and ICEGATE for customs filings.

DSCs are also required for directors of companies registering on the startup registration portal and for individuals participating in e-tendering and e-procurement. A Class 3 DSC is the highest level required for the most sensitive government filings, while Class 2 DSCs are used for standard income tax and GST submissions. We procure DSCs quickly through licensed Certifying Authorities, with doorstep video KYC verification for convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Class 2 and Class 3 DSC?
Class 2 DSC was historically used for income tax and GST filings where identity is verified against a trusted database. Class 3 DSC offers a higher level of assurance and is required for MCA filings, e-tendering, ICEGATE, and DGFT applications. As per CCA guidelines, all new DSCs issued are Class 3, which also covers the use cases previously handled by Class 2.
How long is a DSC valid?
DSCs are typically issued with a validity of one, two, or three years depending on the option chosen at the time of application. After expiry, the DSC cannot be used for signing and must be renewed through the Certifying Authority.
Can a DSC be used on multiple computers?
A DSC stored on a USB token can be used on any computer by plugging in the token and entering the token PIN. However, it cannot be copied to multiple computers simultaneously. The private key remains secure within the USB token and cannot be extracted.
Is a DSC required for GST return filing?
For companies and LLPs, GST returns can be filed using either a DSC or an EVC (Electronic Verification Code). For proprietorships and individuals, EVC is typically sufficient. However, a DSC is mandatory for certain GST applications and filings made by authorised signatories of companies.
What happens if a DSC is lost or the USB token is damaged?
If the USB token containing a DSC is lost or damaged, the DSC must be revoked with the Certifying Authority and a new DSC must be obtained. The revocation is important to prevent misuse of the lost token. A new application with fresh KYC verification is required for the replacement DSC.
